All downloads are compressed (zipped). To use them you need a (un-) compressiontool like WinZip (Shareware) or QuickZip (Freeware).

The unzipped files must put into following Maps:

At every object image you can find two letters. That are the short forms of the Expansionpacks which are needed to use the objects.
Here are the shortforms and the meanings:

All Objects with TS can be used with any extensionpack. All other objects could only be used if you have the concerned expansion.

If you have problems with downloading some or all objects, there could be a problem with your downloadmanager. Please deactivate it and try again.

You can also try to download with right click.

Sometimes there are problems with some firewalls. If you use one, you can change the settings to lower security, maybe you must deactivate the firewall at all. Don´t forget to reactivate it right after you have ended to download!!!

Unfortunately, there is no object creating program at the moment to make objects for Sims2.
Maxis announced this at the earliest for 6-9 months after the release of Sims2.
So we all have to manage the game without dl-objects until march -june 2005. :(

I´m really willing to make objects for the second version, too, but actually, I can´t say what happens to SimGedoehns in the meantime. A half or 3/4 year is a long time.

Webspace makes costs
Maybe some of you didn´t know, that making a website makes a lot of costs for bandwith and webspace. All free webspace is made and useful for private homepages. SimGedoehns, with round about 100.000 visitors/month, is far beyond to be a private homepage. With other words I need much more capacity and this is expensive

Most objects shall stay free
I want to offer as much objects as possible for free. But this is only possible when at least the costs for my website can be paid. Thats the reason for one premiumset each month. These sets are usually an expansion to a free set. If you want to have the full offer of SimGedoehns you can get it for a fair price of 2€ per month.

SimGedoehns is a fulltime job
I´m spending very much time to all of my sets. I need often more than 60 hours to build a single set in the known originality and quality. Normally there are two sets per month, so creating is alsmost a fulltime job. Further I have to spend a lot of time for updating and maintainig my website and to answer lots of questions and problems in my guestbook and via email.
In the face of the required time and work, a monthly payment of 2€ seems very reasonable and fair to me.
It´s in any case better, than making a pure paysite.

Gedöhns is a german slang word and just mean stuff or rubbish. As I was planning my site I didn´t have any idea for a nice Sim site name. So I used this "temorarely" to make the logo and sitedesign. But I didn´t had a better idea so I went online with this name. No it is a little bit to uninternational I know, but all of my german fans don´t want another name. I tried to ask for suggestions in a german forum, but anybody told me to stay with this name :)
So I fear you have to do it with it now ;)

Feel free to recolor the free objects on my site, but please don´t redistribute the original (not changed) files in any way.

The premiumobjects may not be recolored, cloned or redistrbuted in any way.

Filesharing is not allowed.

Pictures of my objects may be distributed without my permission.
Credit would be fine, but is not nescessary.
